Description
A quick and simple peach cobbler recipe made with Bisquick baking mix, bursting with juicy peaches and warm spices, perfect for a comforting dessert that comes together in under an hour.
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups Baking Mix (Bisquick)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 3/4 cup sugar
Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter (melted)
- 1 cup milk
Fruit
- 4 cups peaches (fresh or canned, sliced)
Instructions
- Prepare: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Melt Butter: Melt the half cup of butter in a large bowl, either using a microwave or stovetop method.
- Mix Batter: To the melted butter, add 2 cups of Bisquick baking mix, 1 cup milk, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, and 3/4 cup sugar. Stir well until combined into a smooth batter.
- Spread Batter: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish, ensuring a flat, even layer.
- Add Peaches: Spoon the 4 cups of sliced peaches evenly over the batter. Do not stir or mix. The batter will rise over the peaches during baking.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 50 minutes, until the top is a deep golden brown and the cobbler is set.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the cobbler to cool for at least 30 minutes; this helps it firm up and makes it easier to slice and serve. Enjoy warm with whipped cream, ice cream, or milk.
Notes
- Use fresh or canned peaches; if canned, drain excess syrup to prevent runny cobbler.
- For added texture, sprinkle chopped nuts over peaches before baking.
- Letting the cobbler cool improves its texture for clean slicing.
- This recipe is versatile and can be made with other fruits such as berries or apples.
