Description

Dirt Pudding Dessert Cups are a playful and indulgent treat made with layers of chocolate pudding, whipped cream, and crushed cookies, topped with gummy worms to create a fun, earthy look. Perfect for parties, kids’ events, or any occasion!

Ingredients

  1. 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  2. 2 ½ cups milk
  3. 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
  4. 1 package (14 oz) Oreos (or any chocolate sandwich cookie), crushed
  5. 1012 gummy worms (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the pudding: In a large bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk for about 2 minutes, or until the pudding begins to thicken. Let it sit for a few minutes to firm up.

  1. Layer the dessert: Spoon a layer of pudding (about 2 tablespoons per cup) into small cups or mason jars.
  2. Add whipped topping: Top the pudding with a generous dollop of whipped topping and smooth it evenly.
  3. Crush the cookies: Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs using a rolling pin or food processor. Sprinkle a layer of crushed Oreos over the whipped topping, pressing gently to stick.
  4. Repeat the layers: Add another layer of pudding, followed by whipped topping and crushed Oreos. Continue layering until the cups are filled.
  5. Garnish: Finish by sprinkling the remaining crushed Oreos on top and garnishing with gummy worms.
  6. Chill and serve: Refrigerate for 1-2 hours before serving. Serve cold.

Notes

  • Dirt Pudding can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 2-3 days.
  • If you prefer homemade whipped cream, use heavy cream with powdered sugar for a fluffy topping.
  • Feel free to use different cookies, such as graham crackers or chocolate cookies other than Oreos.
  • To make this dessert gluten-free, use gluten-free cookies and ensure the pudding mix is gluten-free.
  • Add fruit like strawberries or raspberries for a fresh twist between layers.
  • Store gummy worms separately until serving to prevent them from becoming soggy.
