Description

Decadent Passion Fruit Tiramisu is a tropical twist on the classic Italian dessert. Creamy mascarpone layers are combined with the bright, tangy flavor of passion fruit, creating a refreshing and indulgent treat.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  2. 1 cup heavy cream
  3. 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  5. 1/4 cup passion fruit pulp (from fresh passion fruit or store-bought pulp)
  6. 1/4 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed is ideal)
  7. 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, depending on sweetness of passion fruit)
  8. 24 ladyfinger cookies
  9. Cocoa powder (for dusting, optional)
  10. Fresh passion fruit pulp or zest for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Passion Fruit Syrup: In a small bowl, combine passion fruit pulp, orange juice, and sugar (if using). Stir to combine and set aside.

  1. Make the Mascarpone Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese until smooth and creamy. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to beat until fully combined.
  2. Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
  3. Assemble the Tiramisu: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the passion fruit syrup, then lay them in the bottom of a 9×9-inch dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  4. Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Dust with cocoa powder and garnish with fresh passion fruit pulp or zest before serving.

Notes

  1. Add melted chocolate between layers of mascarpone for a chocolatey twist.
  2. For a non-alcoholic version, omit any liqueurs traditionally used in tiramisu and soak ladyfingers entirely in passion fruit syrup.
  3. Veganize the recipe by substituting mascarpone with plant-based alternatives and using vegan ladyfingers.
