Description

Custard Yogurt Toast is a quick and easy breakfast or snack that combines crispy toast with a creamy, slightly sweet custard filling. Made with simple ingredients like bread, yogurt, egg, and honey, this trendy dish is ready in under 15 minutes. Customize it with fresh fruits, nuts, or a drizzle of honey for a delicious and healthy treat!

Ingredients

  • Thick slices of bread (brioche, sourdough, or Texas toast work best)
  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt or regular yogurt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Fresh fruits (optional, for topping)
  • Powdered sugar or cinnamon (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven or Stovetop:

    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat a pan on low heat if using a stovetop.
  2. Make the Custard:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together yogurt, egg, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Prepare the Bread:

    • Press down the center of each bread slice with the back of a spoon to create a shallow well.
  4. Fill and Bake:

    • Pour the custard mixture into the well of each bread slice.
    • Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the custard is set and the edges are golden brown.
    • If using a stovetop, cook in a covered pan on low heat until the custard sets.
  5. Top and Serve:

    • Remove from heat, let cool slightly, and top with fresh fruits, a sprinkle of powdered sugar, or a drizzle of honey.
    • Serve warm and enjoy!
