Description
Crumbl Cosmic Brownie Cookies are a decadent dessert that combines the fudgy texture of brownies with soft, chewy cookies. Topped with colorful sprinkles, extra chocolate chips, and a drizzle of melted chocolate, these cookies are a fun and indulgent treat.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
½ cup mini M&M’s or candy-coated chocolate sprinkles (for topping)
½ cup semisweet chocolate chips (for the drizzle)
¼ cup heavy cream (to melt the chocolate for the drizzle)
Rainbow candy sprinkles (optional, for extra fun)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in 1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips, mixing gently until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes to prevent excessive spreading while baking.
- Once chilled, scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough and roll it into a ball. Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Press some extra chocolate chips and candy-coated sprinkles (like mini M&M’s) into the tops of each dough ball for extra sweetness and color.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. Be careful not to overbake.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- While the cookies cool, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it’s just about to simmer. Remove from heat and stir in the ½ cup of semisweet chocolate chips until fully melted and smooth.
- Once the cookies are cool, drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of each cookie. Immediately sprinkle rainbow candy sprinkles for a fun, colorful touch.
- Let the drizzle set for a few minutes, then serve and enjoy!
Notes
- If you prefer a different chocolate flavor, try using milk chocolate chips or white chocolate chips in the drizzle.
- For a fun twist, add chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans to the dough.
- For gluten-free cookies, use a gluten-free flour blend, ensuring all other ingredients are gluten-free.
- If you want mini cookies, adjust the baking time to 6-8 minutes.
