Description

Crispy Eggless Churro Bites are bite-sized, golden-fried treats coated in cinnamon sugar. Made without eggs, they’re crunchy on the outside and soft inside, perfect for snacking, parties, or serving with dipping sauces.


Ingredients

  1. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  2. 1 cup water
  3. 2 tbsp unsalted butter or neutral oil
  4. 1 tbsp sugar
  5. 1/4 tsp salt
  6. 1/2 tsp baking powder
  7. 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  8. Vegetable oil, for frying

For coating:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

In a saucepan, combine water, butter (or oil), sugar, and salt. Heat over medium until butter melts and mixture simmers.

  1. Remove from heat and stir in flour, baking powder, and cinnamon until a dough forms. Let cool slightly.
  2. Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Pipe 1–2 inch lengths of dough directly into hot oil, cutting with scissors or a knife. Fry until golden brown and crisp.
  5. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. While still warm, roll churro bites in the cinnamon sugar coating until well covered.
  7. Serve warm with chocolate or caramel sauce if desired.

Notes

  1. Keep oil at 350°F (175°C) to avoid greasy or soggy churros.
  2. For a lighter version, bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–20 minutes.
  3. Can be made vegan using plant-based butter or oil.
  4. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days.
  5. Reheat in the oven for crispness; avoid microwaving.
