Description

Crescent Roll Apple Dumplings are an easy, comforting dessert made by wrapping apple wedges in buttery crescent roll dough and drizzling with a sweet cinnamon-sugar syrup, baked to golden perfection.

Ingredients

  1. Crescent roll dough (1 can, typically 8 rolls)
  2. Apples (peeled, cored, and cut into wedges)
  3. Butter (melted)
  4. Cinnamon
  5. Sugar (granulated)
  6. Mountain Dew (or any lemon-lime soda)
  7. Optional: vanilla extract or a pinch of nutmeg

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  1. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set it aside.
  2. Separate the crescent roll dough into individual triangles.
  3. Place one apple wedge at the wider end of each triangle of dough and roll it up, sealing the edges well.
  4. Place each apple dumpling in the prepared baking dish.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, cinnamon, and sugar. Pour this mixture over the dumplings.
  6. Pour the Mountain Dew (or lemon-lime soda) around the dumplings in the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the dough is golden and bubbly, and the apples are tender.
  8. Let the dumplings cool for a few minutes, then serve with the syrup from the baking dish. Optionally, top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgence.

Notes

  • Can substitute Mountain Dew with ginger ale, apple cider, or other lemon-lime sodas for varied flavors.
  • Peel apples for better texture, though the skins can be left on if preferred.
  • For extra sweetness, drizzle caramel sauce over the dumplings before serving.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2–3 days and reheated in the microwave or oven.
