Description

This refreshing Mango Cream dessert is a delightful and easy-to-make treat that combines ripe mango puree with fluffy whipped cream. Layered beautifully and garnished with fresh mango and mint leaves, it offers a perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess. Ideal for a quick summer dessert, it can be served immediately or chilled for enhanced flavor.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 large very ripe mangoes
  • 1 teaspoon orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons cane sugar (or granulated sugar), divided
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream (240ml)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • Mint leaves for garnishing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mangoes: Peel the mangoes and cut around the pit. Reserve half of one mango for garnishing. Chop the remaining mango flesh and place it into a food processor. Add 1 tablespoon of cane sugar and the orange zest, then blend until you get a smooth mango puree.
  2. Whip the cream: In a separate bowl, pour the heavy whipping cream. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of cane sugar and the vanilla extract. Using a hand mixer, whip the cream until stiff peaks form, which should take about 3 minutes.
  3. Assemble the dessert: In serving cups, layer the mango puree and whipped cream alternately. Dice the reserved mango piece and use it to top the layers. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately or chill the dessert for at least 30 minutes before serving for best taste.

Notes

  • Use very ripe mangoes for the best natural sweetness and flavor.
  • Chilling the dessert enhances the flavors and texture.
  • Mint leaves add a fresh aroma and decorative touch but are optional.
  • The recipe yields 6 servings, perfect for parties or family gatherings.
  • For a lighter version, you may substitute heavy cream with whipping cream or a dairy-free alternative.
