Description

Ingredients

  1. 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    2 tablespoons olive oil
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon onion powder
    1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
    1/2 cup heavy cream
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    1/2 cup chicken broth
    Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  1. Once the skillet is hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the chicken broth and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the cream cheese. Stir until the cream cheese is melted and smooth.
  4. Add the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese to the skillet, stirring until well combined. Let the sauce simmer for 3-4 minutes, or until it thickens slightly.
  5. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon some of the sauce over the top, and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is fully coated and heated through.
  6. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve.

Notes

  1. Add spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, or mushrooms to the sauce for extra flavor and texture.
  2. Substitute chicken thighs for extra juiciness and flavor.
  3. Make it lighter by swapping heavy cream for half-and-half or using reduced-fat cream cheese.
  4. For a spicy version, add red pepper flakes or chopped jalapeños to the sauce.
  5. Add a squeeze of lemon juice for a bright citrus touch before serving.
