Description

The Cozy Cinnamon Spice Wreath Cake is a festive, bundt-style cake filled with warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. With a moist, tender crumb and optional glaze or powdered sugar topping, it’s the perfect centerpiece dessert for holidays or chilly weather gatherings.

Ingredients

  1. 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 tsp baking powder
  3. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  4. 1/2 tsp salt
  5. 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  6. 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  7. 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  8. 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  9. 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  10. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  11. 3 large eggs
  12. 2 tsp vanilla extract
  13. 1 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
  14. 1/4 cup whole milk
  15. Optional glaze:
  16. 1 cup powdered sugar
  17. 12 tbsp milk or cream
  18. 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  19. Optional toppings: chopped pecans, cinnamon-sugar, powdered sugar

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt or wreath-shaped pan thoroughly.

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Alternate adding the dry ingredients with sour cream and milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  5. Pour batter evenly into prepared pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool cake in pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. For glaze: whisk powdered sugar, milk/cream, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cake or dust with powdered sugar if preferred.

Notes

  1. Use full-fat sour cream or yogurt for best texture and flavor.
  2. Let the cake rest overnight for deeper spice flavor.
  3. Add chopped nuts, apples, or dried fruit for variation.
  4. Grease bundt pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.
