Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt

- 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup whole milk
- Optional glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp milk or cream
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Optional toppings: chopped pecans, cinnamon-sugar, powdered sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt or wreath-shaped pan thoroughly.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding the dry ingredients with sour cream and milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Pour batter evenly into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool cake in pan for 15 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- For glaze: whisk powdered sugar, milk/cream, and vanilla until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cake or dust with powdered sugar if preferred.
