Description

Cold Baked Chicken Drumsticks are a flavorful, easy-to-make dish with crispy skin and tender, juicy meat. Perfect for picnics, packed lunches, or a simple dinner, these drumsticks can be enjoyed cold or at room temperature.

Ingredients

  1. 10-12 chicken drumsticks
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1 teaspoon paprika
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 teaspoon onion powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
    1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary (optional)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for added freshness)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.

  1. Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  2. Place the drumsticks in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Toss to coat evenly.
  3. In a small bowl, mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and optional herbs. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the drumsticks, coating evenly.
  4. Arrange the drumsticks on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, leaving space between each one.
  5. Bake the drumsticks for 35-45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the skin is golden and crispy.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving cold.
  7. Optional: Drizzle lemon juice over the chicken before serving for added freshness.

Notes

  • Store leftover drumsticks in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
  • For a spicier version, add cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the seasoning mix.
  • You can marinate the drumsticks for extra flavor before baking. A simple marinade of olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and herbs works great.
  • Ensure the chicken skin is dry before baking for extra crispiness.
