Description
Cinnamon Apple Bread is a moist and tender quick bread loaded with chunks of fresh apple and swirls of warm cinnamon. It’s perfect for breakfast, snacking, or dessert—especially during fall.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk or buttermilk
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted (or oil)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups apples, peeled and chopped
- Optional: 2 tablespoons cinnamon-sugar mix for topping/swirl
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a standard loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
- For a cinnamon swirl, pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mix, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.
Notes
- Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best texture.
- Don’t overmix the batter to keep the loaf light and moist.
- For a lower-fat version, substitute some or all of the butter with unsweetened applesauce.
- Wrap and freeze slices individually for easy grab-and-go breakfasts.
- This recipe can also be baked as muffins; reduce baking time to 20–25 minutes.
