Description

Cinnamon Apple Bread is a moist and tender quick bread loaded with chunks of fresh apple and swirls of warm cinnamon. It’s perfect for breakfast, snacking, or dessert—especially during fall.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk or buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted (or oil)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups apples, peeled and chopped
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons cinnamon-sugar mix for topping/swirl

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a standard loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chopped apples.
  5. For a cinnamon swirl, pour half of the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon-sugar mix, then add the remaining batter and top with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar.
  6. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for best texture.
  • Don’t overmix the batter to keep the loaf light and moist.
  • For a lower-fat version, substitute some or all of the butter with unsweetened applesauce.
  • Wrap and freeze slices individually for easy grab-and-go breakfasts.
  • This recipe can also be baked as muffins; reduce baking time to 20–25 minutes.
