Description
Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse combines the rich flavors of chocolate and peanut butter into a creamy, fluffy dessert that’s indulgent and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (for whipping)
Instructions
In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of heavy cream. Heat in the microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth. Let the chocolate cool slightly.
- In a medium bowl, mix the creamy peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whip the remaining 1/2 cup heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Be careful not to overwhip.
- Gently fold the melted chocolate into the peanut butter mixture until fully combined. Then, gently fold in the whipped cream, a third at a time, until smooth and fluffy.
- Spoon the mousse into individual serving cups and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until set.
- Serve chilled and garnish with chocolate shavings, whipped cream, or crushed peanuts if desired.
Notes
- For a richer taste, swirl in some chocolate ganache before chilling.
- If you want a crunchier texture, use crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute the heavy cream with coconut cream and use dairy-free chocolate and peanut butter.
