Description
Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies are the ultimate indulgence for anyone who loves chocolate and peanut butter. The cookies feature a rich, chocolatey dough filled with creamy peanut butter chips, offering a perfect balance of flavors and textures.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups peanut butter chips
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (optional, for extra chocolatey goodness)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the peanut butter chips and semisweet chocolate chips (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough and roll it into a ball. Place the dough balls onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft. Be careful not to overbake, as the cookies will continue to set as they cool.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Serve and enjoy these delicious, chewy cookies with a glass of milk!
Notes
- If you want extra chocolate flavor, you can add more chocolate chips to the dough.
- For a twist, try using white chocolate chips or butterscotch chips instead of semisweet chocolate chips.
- For a gluten-free version, substitute the all-purpose flour with a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
- For a dairy-free option, use dairy-free butter and chocolate chips.
