Description

No-bake chocolate marshmallow Rice Krispy treats combining gooey marshmallows, crispy cereal, and rich cocoa or chocolate chips for an easy, indulgent snack.


Ingredients

  1. 4 tbsp unsalted butter (or plant-based alternative)
  2. 10 oz mini marshmallows
  3. 2 tbsp cocoa powder (optional, for richer chocolate flavor)
  4. 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal (plain or chocolate-flavored)
  5. 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  6. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  7. Pinch of salt (optional)
  8. Extra melted chocolate for drizzle (optional)

Instructions

In a large saucepan, melt butter over low-medium heat.

  1. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Stir in cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt (if using).
  3. Remove from heat and fold in Rice Krispies cereal and chocolate chips (if using) until evenly coated.
  4. Press mixture gently into a parchment-lined 9×13-inch pan using a buttered spatula—avoid compacting too firmly.
  5. Optional: drizzle with melted chocolate.
  6. Allow to cool and set for about 30 minutes before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • For a s’mores twist, replace part of the cereal with crushed Golden Grahams.
  • Do not overpack mixture to keep treats soft and chewy.
