Description
No-bake chocolate marshmallow Rice Krispy treats combining gooey marshmallows, crispy cereal, and rich cocoa or chocolate chips for an easy, indulgent snack.
Ingredients
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter (or plant-based alternative)
- 10 oz mini marshmallows
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder (optional, for richer chocolate flavor)
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal (plain or chocolate-flavored)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt (optional)
- Extra melted chocolate for drizzle (optional)
Instructions
In a large saucepan, melt butter over low-medium heat.
- Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Stir in cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt (if using).
- Remove from heat and fold in Rice Krispies cereal and chocolate chips (if using) until evenly coated.
- Press mixture gently into a parchment-lined 9×13-inch pan using a buttered spatula—avoid compacting too firmly.
- Optional: drizzle with melted chocolate.
- Allow to cool and set for about 30 minutes before cutting into bars.
Notes
- For a s’mores twist, replace part of the cereal with crushed Golden Grahams.
- Do not overpack mixture to keep treats soft and chewy.
- Use fresh marshmallows for the best texture.
