Description

Chocolate Dump Cake is a rich, gooey dessert made with chocolate cake mix, evaporated milk, and melted butter. This simple, indulgent treat bakes into a cake-like texture with a fudgy, gooey bottom.

Ingredients

  1. 1 box of chocolate cake mix (preferably a fudge or dark chocolate variety)
  2. 1 can (12 oz) of evaporated milk
  3. 1/2 cup of butter (melted)
  4. 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, but recommended for extra chocolate richness)
  5. 1 cup of sugar
  6. 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  1. In the baking dish, dump the dry chocolate cake mix, spreading it evenly across the bottom.
  2. Pour the sugar and chocolate chips (if using) over the cake mix.
  3. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the top.
  4. Pour the evaporated milk over everything in the dish, but do not stir. The ingredients will settle during baking to create a cake-like texture on top with a gooey, fudgy bottom.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the top is set and the edges are slightly golden. The center should be soft and gooey, but not liquidy.
  6. Let it cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence!

Notes

  1. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
  2. Reheat in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or in the oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.
  3. For added flavor, mix in chopped nuts or marshmallows.
