Description
Chocolate Banana Bread is a decadent twist on classic banana bread, combining the sweetness of ripe bananas with rich chocolate, creating a moist, flavorful bread perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
1/4 cup milk (or dairy-free alternative)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, saving a small handful to sprinkle on top of the batter before baking.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top for a chocolatey finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean (or with a few moist crumbs).
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
