Description

Chocolate Banana Bites are a delicious and easy-to-make treat combining the sweetness of bananas with rich, smooth chocolate. A perfect snack or dessert, customizable with various toppings for extra flavor.

Ingredients

  1. 2 ripe bananas
1 cup dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate chips, depending on preference)
1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother chocolate coating)
Crushed nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, or hazelnuts), shredded coconut, or sea salt (optional toppings)

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Alternatively, cut them into larger chunks or coins if preferred.

  1. Melt the Chocolate: In a heatproof bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using). Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler on the stove.
  2. Dip the Banana Slices: Using a fork or toothpick, dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, coating it completely. Let any excess chocolate drip off before placing the banana slice onto a parchment-lined tray.
  3. Add Toppings (Optional): After dipping, sprinkle the bananas with crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or a pinch of sea salt for added flavor and texture.
  4. Set the Chocolate: Place the tray in the refrigerator for 30 minutes or the freezer for 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate to set.
  5. Serve: Once the chocolate is set, enjoy the Chocolate Banana Bites immediately, or store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • Frozen bananas can be used for a different texture, though they will create a more refreshing treat.
  • Milk chocolate, white chocolate, or other variations of chocolate can be used for a different flavor.
  • Optional toppings such as granola, crushed pretzels, or dried fruit add extra texture and flavor.
