Description
Cherry Fluff is a creamy, light, and refreshing dessert that combines maraschino cherries, whipped cream, pineapple, and marshmallows for a sweet and tangy treat. This easy-to-make dessert is perfect for potlucks, holiday gatherings, or family celebrations.
Ingredients
- 1 can (15 oz) crushed pineapple, drained
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tub (8 oz) whipped topping (such as Cool Whip)
- 1 package (3 oz) cherry gelatin (cherry Jell-O)
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
- 1 cup maraschino cherries, chopped (drain and reserve juice)
- 1/2 cup coconut flakes (optional)
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk and the dry cherry gelatin. Stir until the gelatin is fully dissolved into the milk.
- Add the drained crushed pineapple to the mixture, and stir to combine. Make sure you squeeze out any excess juice from the pineapple before adding it to keep the texture just right.
- Gently fold in the whipped topping until everything is well combined, creating a light and fluffy mixture.
- Add the mini marshmallows and chopped maraschino cherries, mixing them in evenly.
- If you want an extra layer of flavor and texture, fold in the shredded coconut at this point.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, give it a good stir and garnish with additional chopped cherries or coconut flakes, if desired.
Notes
- For some crunch, try adding chopped pecans or walnuts.
- If you’re not a fan of coconut, feel free to omit it.
- For a lower-calorie version, use light whipped topping and fat-free condensed milk.
