Description

Cheesy Taco Sticks combine the irresistible flavors of tacos with the cheesy goodness of breadsticks. Filled with seasoned ground beef, shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese, and wrapped in soft pizza dough, these golden, crispy sticks are perfect for dipping in salsa, sour cream, or guacamole. Whether as a snack, appetizer, or main course, these taco-inspired sticks are sure to be a hit at your next meal or gathering.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning

¼ cup water

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough

1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

¼ cup salsa

1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing)

Optional toppings: sour cream, guacamole, additional salsa

Instructions

  • Cook the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess grease and stir in taco seasoning and water. Let it simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

  • Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface and cut into strips, roughly 1-2 inches wide.

  • Assemble the Taco Sticks: On each dough strip, add a spoonful of seasoned beef and top with shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese. Roll up the dough around the filling, pinching the edges to seal.

  • Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the rolled taco sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the tops with olive oil for a golden finish. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.

  • Serve: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for dipping.

Notes

  • Spicy Taco Sticks: Add diced jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture for extra heat.

  • Vegetarian Version: Use black beans or sautéed vegetables instead of ground beef.

  • Different Cheeses: Experiment with Mexican cheese blends or pepper jack cheese for a spicier version.
