With endless variations and the ability to add your favorite ingredients, cheese quesadillas are the perfect go-to meal for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 flour tortillas (8-inch)
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a blend)
1 tablespoon butter (or oil for cooking)
Instructions
Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Place one tortilla on a clean surface and sprinkle with shredded cheese evenly over the entire surface, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Top with the second tortilla, pressing it down slightly to help the cheese stay in place.
- Add the butter (or oil) to the skillet, ensuring it’s evenly distributed. Once the skillet is hot, carefully place the quesadilla in the skillet.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on the first side, until the tortilla is golden brown and crispy. Flip the quesadilla carefully with a spatula, and cook the other side for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted and the tortilla is crispy.
- Once cooked, remove from the skillet and let it cool for a minute before cutting into wedges.
- Serve with your favorite sides like salsa, sour cream, or guacamole.
Notes
