Description
Caramel pretzel ice cream combines creamy caramel ice cream with crunchy pretzels and a swirl of golden caramel sauce for the ultimate sweet and salty treat.
Ingredients
- *2 cups heavy cream
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
1 cup mini pretzels, crushed
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Additional caramel sauce for swirls (optional)
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form using a hand mixer or stand mixer on medium-high speed.
- In a separate bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, caramel sauce, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until well combined.
- Gently fold the caramel mixture into the whipped cream until fully incorporated, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream too much.
- Crush the mini pretzels into small pieces and fold them into the ice cream mixture, reserving a small handful to sprinkle on top.
- Transfer the ice cream mixture into a loaf pan or another freezer-safe container and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Drizzle additional caramel sauce over the top and swirl it into the ice cream with a knife or skewer.
- Sprinkle the remaining crushed pretzels over the top and gently press them into the ice cream.
- Cover the container with plastic wrap or a lid and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
Notes
- For an extra touch of flavor, caramelize the pretzels by tossing them in melted butter and a bit of sugar before adding them to the ice cream.
- For a dairy-free version, use coconut cream or almond milk and a dairy-free sweetened condensed milk alternative.
