Ingredients
Cheese Ball Mixture
- 16 ounces Cream Cheese, softened
- 3-4 Tablespoons Sour Cream
- 3/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- Small Pinch Sea Salt
Coating
- 1/3 Cup Pecans, crushed/chopped
- 4 Graham Crackers, crushed to crumbs
Topping & Serving
- 2 Tablespoons Caramel Sauce
- Additional Graham Crackers or Cookies, for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the cream cheese mixture: Using a hand mixer, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, powdered sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and a small pinch of sea salt. Mix for 1-2 minutes until the mixture is smooth, fluffy, and well incorporated.
- Shape and chill the cheese ball: Lay two long strips of plastic wrap on a flat surface in an ‘X’ shape. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the center, then gather the edges of the plastic wrap upwards, closing at the top and tightening to form a ball shape. Transfer the wrapped cheese ball to the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour to firm up.
- Prepare the coating and coat the cheese ball: Spread the crushed graham cracker crumbs and chopped pecans evenly on a flat surface or plate. Remove the cheese ball from the plastic wrap and roll it onto the crumb and pecan mixture, pressing gently to ensure it is fully coated. Patch any uncovered spots with additional crumbs and pecans.
- Serve: Place the coated cheese ball on a serving platter. Drizzle with caramel sauce at the top. Serve immediately with extra graham crackers or cookies for dipping.
Notes
- For best results, use full-fat cream cheese and sour cream to ensure a rich and creamy texture.
- You can adjust the amount of powdered sugar to taste if you prefer a sweeter or less sweet cheese ball.
- Chill time is important to allow the cheese ball to firm up for easier coating and slicing.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Feel free to substitute pecans with walnuts or almonds if preferred.
- Use homemade caramel sauce or store-bought for convenience.
