Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars are no-bake layered treats featuring crisp rice cereal coated in rich caramel, topped with smooth melted chocolate, and optionally finished with a sprinkle of sea salt for a sweet-salty crunch.
Ingredients
- 4 cups crisp rice cereal (such as Rice Krispies)
- 11 oz caramels, unwrapped
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
- Optional: pinch of sea salt for garnish
Instructions
Line an 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
- Place cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
- In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt caramels, sweetened condensed milk, and butter together, stirring until smooth.
- Pour hot caramel mixture over cereal and stir until evenly coated.
- Press mixture firmly into prepared pan, smoothing the top.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- Spread melted chocolate evenly over caramel layer.
- Optional: sprinkle sea salt over chocolate while still warm.
- Let bars cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate until set.
- Cut into squares or bars to serve.
Notes
- For faster setting, chill bars in the fridge for 30–45 minutes.
- Add nuts, marshmallows, or toffee bits to the cereal mixture for extra texture.
- Use gluten-free rice cereal for a gluten-free version.
