Description

Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars are no-bake layered treats featuring crisp rice cereal coated in rich caramel, topped with smooth melted chocolate, and optionally finished with a sprinkle of sea salt for a sweet-salty crunch.


Ingredients

  1. 4 cups crisp rice cereal (such as Rice Krispies)
  2. 11 oz caramels, unwrapped
  3. 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  4. 1/4 cup butter
  5. 2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
  6. Optional: pinch of sea salt for garnish

Instructions

Line an 8×8 or 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.

  1. Place cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt caramels, sweetened condensed milk, and butter together, stirring until smooth.
  3. Pour hot caramel mixture over cereal and stir until evenly coated.
  4. Press mixture firmly into prepared pan, smoothing the top.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  6. Spread melted chocolate evenly over caramel layer.
  7. Optional: sprinkle sea salt over chocolate while still warm.
  8. Let bars cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate until set.
  9. Cut into squares or bars to serve.

Notes

  1. For faster setting, chill bars in the fridge for 30–45 minutes.
  2. Add nuts, marshmallows, or toffee bits to the cereal mixture for extra texture.
