Ingredients

1 cup of butter, melted

1 cup of granulated sugar

1 cup of brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

1 ¾ cups of all-purpose flour

¾ cup of cocoa powder

1 teaspoon of baking powder

½ teaspoon of salt

1 cup of chocolate chips (optional)


Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper or lightly grease them.

  • In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.

  • Add the eggs, one at a time, and vanilla extract, mixing after each addition.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  • Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring until fully combined.

  • Fold in the chocolate chips if using.

  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.

  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.

  • Allow the brookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
