Description

Blueberry cookies are a soft and chewy treat bursting with juicy blueberries in every bite. Perfect for any occasion, these cookies combine a buttery dough with the sweet and slightly tart flavor of fresh or frozen blueberries. Easy to make and customizable, you can add lemon zest, white chocolate, or nuts for a fun twist. Enjoy them as a snack, dessert, or even a quick breakfast!

Ingredients

  • Dry Ingredients:

    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • ½ tsp baking soda
    • ¼ tsp salt
  • Wet Ingredients:

    • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
    • ¾ cup granulated sugar
    • ¼ cup brown sugar
    • 1 egg
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Mix-ins:

    • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Cream Butter & Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add Wet Ingredients: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  • Combine: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Fold in Blueberries: Gently fold in the blueberries to avoid crushing them.
  • Scoop & Bake: Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges turn golden brown.
  • Cool & Enjoy: Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For a stronger blueberry flavor, add 1 tsp blueberry extract or use dried blueberries.
  • Chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking helps prevent excessive spreading.
  • If using frozen blueberries, don’t thaw them—just mix them in and bake 1-2 minutes longer.
