Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
 - 1 small onion, finely chopped
 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
 - 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade taco seasoning)
 - 1/4 cup water
 - 8 small taco shells (hard or soft)
 - 1 cup shredded lettuce
 - 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
 - 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
 - 1/4 cup sour cream
 - Salsa (optional)
 - Jalapeños (optional)
 - Fresh cilantro (optional)
 
Instructions
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned, breaking it up into crumbles with a spatula.
 - Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
 - Stir in taco seasoning and water, mixing well to coat the beef. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken.
 - While the beef is cooking, warm the taco shells in the oven or skillet as per the package instructions.
 - Assemble tacos by spooning the seasoned beef into each taco shell.
 - Top with shredded lettuce, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, sour cream, salsa, jalapeños, and cilantro, as desired.
