Banana Split Tacos are a playful twist on the classic banana split, served in waffle taco shells filled with bananas, ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles, and cherries. A fun, customizable dessert perfect for parties or family nights.
Ingredients
- 6 waffle bowls or cones (shaped into taco shells)
- 2 bananas, sliced
- 2 cups vanilla ice cream
- 2 cups chocolate ice cream
- 2 cups strawberry ice cream
- ½ cup chocolate syrup or hot fudge
- 1 cup whipped cream
- ¼ cup sprinkles
- 6 maraschino cherries
- ¼ cup crushed peanuts or chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
Microwave waffle bowls or cones for 10–15 seconds to soften. Shape into taco shells and let cool. Freeze shells for a few minutes to firm up.
- Place one scoop each of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream into each taco shell.
- Top with banana slices.
- Drizzle with chocolate syrup or hot fudge.
- Add whipped cream, sprinkles, and nuts (if using).
- Finish with a maraschino cherry on top.
- Serve immediately before ice cream melts.
Notes
- Prepare taco shells and banana slices in advance, but assemble just before serving.
- Freeze shells briefly before filling to help them stay crisp.
- Customize with different ice creams, toppings, or drizzles like caramel or Nutella.
- Best eaten fresh—assembled tacos do not store well.
