Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Mash bananas in a large bowl and combine with sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt.
- Add yeast mixture and gradually stir in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes, then place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Roll dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, and sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon mixture.
- Roll up tightly and slice into 12 equal rolls. Place in greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Meanwhile, beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth for the frosting.
- Spread frosting over warm rolls and serve.

- Use very ripe bananas for maximum sweetness and flavor.
- If dough is too sticky, add flour gradually until soft and manageable.
