Description

Banana bread is a beloved classic that turns overripe bananas into a moist, flavorful treat. With its perfect balance of sweetness and density, this banana bread is great for breakfast, dessert, or a snack. Its tender texture and rich banana flavor make it irresistible.

Ingredients

  1. 3 ripe bananas, mashed
    1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
    1 cup granulated sugar
    2 large eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

  1. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  2. Stir in the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  3. Mix in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
  7. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  1. This banana bread is highly customizable. Add-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruits work wonderfully.
  2. If you prefer less sugar, feel free to reduce the granulated sugar, as the bananas already provide sweetness.
  3. For a different twist, try adding cinnamon or even nutmeg to enhance the flavor.
  4. Frozen bananas can be used; just thaw and drain any excess liquid before mashing.
  5. For a vegan version, substitute eggs with flax eggs and use dairy-free butter or oil.
