Description
Banana bread is a beloved classic that turns overripe bananas into a moist, flavorful treat. With its perfect balance of sweetness and density, this banana bread is great for breakfast, dessert, or a snack. Its tender texture and rich banana flavor make it irresistible.
Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
- Stir in the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
- Mix in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- This banana bread is highly customizable. Add-ins like chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruits work wonderfully.
- If you prefer less sugar, feel free to reduce the granulated sugar, as the bananas already provide sweetness.
- For a different twist, try adding cinnamon or even nutmeg to enhance the flavor.
- Frozen bananas can be used; just thaw and drain any excess liquid before mashing.
- For a vegan version, substitute eggs with flax eggs and use dairy-free butter or oil.
