Description

Apple Pie with Graham Cracker Crust is a cozy twist on the classic dessert, featuring a buttery, sweet graham cracker crust that pairs perfectly with tender spiced apples. This easy-to-make pie is ideal for any occasion, from holiday dinners to casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

  • 1 and 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 67 cups peeled, thinly sliced apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour or 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Stir in melted butter until the mixture resembles wet sand.
  3. Press the crust mixture into the bottom and up the sides of the pie dish. Bake for 8–10 minutes. Set aside to cool.
  4. In a large bowl, toss sliced apples with lemon juice.
  5. Add brown sugar, flour or cornstarch, 1 tsp cinnamon, nutmeg (if using), salt, and vanilla extract. Mix until apples are evenly coated.
  6. Spoon the apple filling into the cooled crust, pressing gently to compact the layers.
  7. Bake the pie for 45–50 minutes, until apples are tender and bubbling. Cover edges with foil if crust browns too quickly.
  8. Let the pie cool for at least 1 hour before slicing to allow the filling to set.
  9. Serve warm or chilled, plain or topped with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

  • Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for more depth of flavor.
  • Thin, even apple slices cook more evenly and layer better in the crust.
  • Pre-baking the crust ensures it stays crisp under the filling.
  • For extra texture, add a crumble topping before baking.
  • Refrigerate leftovers to keep the pie fresh longer.
