Description

Ingredients

  1. For the crust:

  3. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  4. 1 large egg
  5. For the filling:
  6. 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  7. 2 large eggs
  8. 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  9. 1 tsp vanilla extract
  10. 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  11. 2 cups apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or similar), peeled and diced

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

  1. Make the crust: In a bowl, mix cake mix, melted butter, and egg until a thick dough forms. Press evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  2. Make the filling: In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add eggs, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Mix until well combined and creamy.
  3. Fold in the diced apples.
  4. Pour the filling over the crust and spread evenly.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the edges are set and the center is slightly gooey. Do not overbake.
  6. Cool completely in the pan. The center will firm up as it cools.
  7. Slice and serve chilled, at room temperature, or slightly warm.
