- 1 teaspoon apple pie spice (divided)
Cake Topping
- 15 oz. vanilla cake mix
- 3/4 cup melted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice (remaining from divided teaspoon)
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and spray a 9 x 13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Layer apple pie filling: Pour the apple pie filling into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle half of the apple pie spice over the filling, then stir gently to combine and spread evenly across the base of the dish.
- Add the cake mix topping: Evenly sprinkle the vanilla cake mix over the apple pie filling layer. Then sprinkle the remaining apple pie spice evenly on top of the cake mix. Drizzle the melted butter carefully over the entire top to moisten the cake mix.
