Description
Apple Cinnamon Brownies are a soft and chewy fall-inspired twist on traditional brownies, made without chocolate and filled with warm cinnamon spice and tender apple chunks.
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
 - 1/2 cup brown sugar
 - 1/4 cup white sugar
 - 1 tsp baking powder
 - 1/4 tsp salt
 - 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
 - 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
 - 1/2 cup butter, melted
 - 2 large eggs
 - 1 tsp vanilla extract
 - 1 1/2 cups apples, peeled and diced (e.g. Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
 
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan.
 - In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
 - In a separate bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
 - Combine the wet and dry ingredients and stir until just mixed.
 - Fold in the diced apples gently with a spatula.
 - Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
 - Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
 - Allow to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before slicing into squares.
 
Notes
- Stir in chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch.
 - Drizzle with vanilla or cream cheese glaze for added sweetness.
 - Use a mix of sweet and tart apples for deeper flavor.
 - Substitute half of the flour with whole wheat flour for added fiber.
 - Freeze well-wrapped individual squares for up to 2 months.
