Description
These Air Fryer Puff Pastry Breakfast Bites are a quick and delicious treat perfect for busy mornings. Featuring flaky pastry filled with your favorite jam, they come together in just minutes using an air fryer for a perfectly golden and crispy finish.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 ready-made chilled puff pastry sheet
- 1 ¼ cup (400g) jam (apricot or your preferred flavor)
- 1 beaten egg or milk (for brushing, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to heat up properly to ensure even cooking.
- Prepare the pastry squares: Roll out the chilled puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 16 equal squares for bite-sized pieces.
- Add the jam filling: Place one heaping teaspoon of your chosen jam in the center of each square, being careful not to overfill.
- Fold and seal: Fold up each pastry square over the jam, brush the edges with beaten egg or milk to help them seal, then press the edges together firmly. Brush the outside of the folded pastries with egg or milk for a golden finish.
- Air fry the bites: Place half of the prepared puff pastry bites into the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until the bites are golden brown and puffed. Repeat the process with the remaining bites.
Notes
- Be careful not to overfill with jam to avoid leaking during cooking.
- If you don’t have beaten egg for brushing, milk works well as a substitute.
- Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
- You can store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes.
- Feel free to experiment with different jams or even nut butters for variety.
