Description

This delicious Air Fryer Pizookie recipe combines the gooey texture of a cookie with the warmth of a freshly baked dessert, all made easy using an air fryer. Perfectly crisp on the edges and soft inside, it’s a delightful treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Cookie Base

  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or red, white, and blue baking chips)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 340 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly spray a 6-inch round cake pan with nonstick cooking spray to ensure the pizookie doesn’t stick.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and fluffy, combining all ingredients well.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour, baking soda, and salt to the butter mixture. Beat the mixture again until the batter is uniform without any lumps, carefully combining the dry ingredients evenly.
  4. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips thoroughly so that they are evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough batter.
  5. Prepare Dough in Pan: Press the pizookie dough evenly into the prepared greased 6-inch round cake pan, making sure the dough is spread out to cover the entire base.
  6. Air Fry the Pizookie: Place the cake pan inside the air fryer basket and air fry at 340ºF for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set but still slightly soft for a gooey texture.
  7. Cool and Serve: Carefully remove the pan from the air fryer and allow the pizookie to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert experience.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overcook the pizookie to keep the center soft and gooey.
  • You can substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips with your choice of baking chips or nuts.
  • Adjust air fryer times based on your model and pan size for best results.
  • Use a 6-inch round cake pan or any similarly sized oven-safe dish that fits into your air fryer basket.
