Description

Air Fryer Cheeseburgers are a quick, easy, and healthier twist on the classic burger. The air fryer gives the patties a crispy exterior and juicy, tender interior with minimal oil, making it a perfect option for a hassle-free and delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for the best balance of flavor and juiciness)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices of your favorite cheese (cheddar, Swiss, American, or provolone)
  • 4 burger buns
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Place the patties in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap. Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through. Adjust the time for your desired level of doneness (10 minutes for medium-rare, 12 minutes for well-done).
In the last 2 minutes of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty to melt.
If desired, toast the buns by placing them cut side up in the air fryer basket and toasting for 1-2 minutes at 375°F (190°C) until golden brown.
Assemble the burgers: Place each patty on a toasted bun and add your preferred toppings like lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard, or mayo.
Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious cheeseburger!

Notes

  1. Turkey or Chicken Burgers: Use ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, ensuring the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  2. Veggie Burger: Swap the beef for a plant-based veggie or black bean patty for a vegan or vegetarian version.
  3. Cheese Variations: Experiment with different types of cheese like smoked gouda, blue cheese, or pepper jack for unique flavors.
  4. Storage: Store leftover patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  5. Reheating: Reheat the patty in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3-4 minutes until heated through. Reheat buns in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes to keep them crispy.
