Description

Crispy, golden, and filled with warm spiced apples, these Air Fryer Apple Taquitos are a delightful dessert or snack that comes together quickly with minimal ingredients and a lighter twist.


Ingredients

  1. 8 small (6-inch) flour tortillas
  2. 1 1/2 cups apple pie filling or 2 cups peeled and diced apples cooked with cinnamon and sugar
  3. 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  4. 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  5. 2 tbsp butter, melted
  6. Cooking spray (optional)

Instructions

If using fresh apples, peel and dice them, then cook with cinnamon and sugar until tender.

  1. Place 2–3 tablespoons of apple filling in the center of each tortilla.
  2. Roll the tortilla tightly into a taquito shape and secure the end with a toothpick if necessary.
  3. Brush each taquito with melted butter and sprinkle with a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Place taquitos in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with cooking spray if desired.
  6. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving. Remove toothpicks if used.

Notes

  • Use gluten-free tortillas for a gluten-free option.
  • To prevent unrolling, place taquitos seam-side down and roll tightly.
  • Serve with whipped cream, caramel sauce, or a scoop of ice cream.
  • Reheat leftovers in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
  • Freeze unbaked taquitos and air fry directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes.
