Ingredients
- 8 small (6-inch) flour tortillas
- 1 1/2 cups apple pie filling or 2 cups peeled and diced apples cooked with cinnamon and sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- Cooking spray (optional)
Instructions
If using fresh apples, peel and dice them, then cook with cinnamon and sugar until tender.
- Place 2–3 tablespoons of apple filling in the center of each tortilla.
- Roll the tortilla tightly into a taquito shape and secure the end with a toothpick if necessary.
- Brush each taquito with melted butter and sprinkle with a cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 2–3 minutes.
- Place taquitos in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with cooking spray if desired.
- Air fry for 6–8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Remove toothpicks if used.
Notes
- Use gluten-free tortillas for a gluten-free option.
- To prevent unrolling, place taquitos seam-side down and roll tightly.
- Serve with whipped cream, caramel sauce, or a scoop of ice cream.
- Reheat leftovers in the air fryer to maintain crispiness.
- Freeze unbaked taquitos and air fry directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes.
